Popovich, Ivan Dmitrievich

Ivan Dmitrievich Popovich (born April 22, 1949 , the village of Osoy , Irshavsky District , Transcarpathian Region ) is a Soviet and Ukrainian pop singer and composer , People's Artist of Ukraine .

Biography

1967 - graduated from the Khust Cultural and Educational School with a degree in choir conductor.

1970 - enrolled in the Lviv Conservatory .

1973 - became the laureate of the X World Youth Festival in Berlin .

Even while studying at the conservatory, he began to sing in the ensemble "Arnika".

1976 - together with Viktor Morozov created the vocal-instrumental ensemble (VIA) "Peer." A year later, the ensemble was invited to the place of “Fire” in the Lviv Philharmonic, and Popovich’s song “Lyuba-Lyuba” became their “calling card”.

1979 - together with Ruslan Ischuk created in Uzhgorod a new VIA "Transcarpathia".

1982 - 1987 - worked in the Kiev State Music Hall.

1987 - became a soloist of the Variety Theater. It was at this time that the peak of its popularity came - the Carpathian Wedding, Vasilisa, Separation Will Not Be, The World Pleases Me, did not disappear from the air.

1990 - received the honorary title People's Artist of Ukraine .

1999 - “For his personal contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture and significant creative achievements” he was awarded the Order of Merit of the III degree.

Since 2005 - Artistic Director of the State Theater and Entertainment Agency.

He toured in Canada, India, Brazil, Italy, Greece, USA and the like.
