Seifullin Prize Laureate, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1979).

Biography

Born August 15, 1927 in the village. Danilovka, Akmola region, Kazakh SSR .

In 1950, he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Kazakh State University named after S. Kirov [1] . During his studies, he headed the department of the youth newspaper Leninshil Zhas , and after graduating, he worked as a senior editor at Mektep Publishing House .

In 1952, he was sent to the Institute of Party History under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan.

From 1958 to 1960, he studied at the graduate school of the Institute of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR , and defended his dissertation, theme: "Ideological and creative issues of Kazakh Soviet literature during its formation (1917-1929)."

In 1960-1968, he was a researcher at the Institute of Literature and Art of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR [1] .

In 1971, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Ways of Origin and Formation of Kazakh Literary Criticism” [2] .

In 1972 - awarded the academic title of professor.

From 1968 to 1978, he worked at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as a senior lecturer, associate professor of KazSU, in 1978-1986 he was dean of the faculty of philology, and in 1990-2000 he was the head of the department.

In 1997 he was awarded the Order of Parasat [1] .

He died on September 7, 2015 [3] [4] [5] .

Scientific activity

He conducted work on the study of S. Seifullin’s creativity, took an active part in the creation of the multi-volume History of Kazakh Literature (1960, Moscow, Nauka Publishing House), the third volume of the History of Kazakh Literature, and the History of Soviet Multinational Literature (1970, Volume 1 ), “History of Soviet Multinational Literature”.

Author of 37 monographs, books and brochures, as well as 800 newspaper and magazine publications and radio and television appearances.

Under its general edition, in 1996, A Brief History of Kazakh Literature was published.

Compiled works of many famous Kazakh writers, including a 12-volume edition of the works of S. Seifullin.

Community Activities

Since the mid-50s of the 20th century, he wrote articles in defense of the interests of the Kazakh language and the Kazakh school, in connection with this he was prosecuted by the authorities for these views.

In 1988 - made a sharp journalistic article “It is necessary to correct numerous errors that have become fatal axioms.”

He participated in works on the objective coverage of the history of the Alash movement , for the status of the Kazakh language as the state language, organizational strengthening of the activities of the international society "Kazakh tili", took an active part in the congresses of the Kazakh diaspora.

He did a great job of training scientific and pedagogical personnel.

Under his scientific supervision, 48 candidate and 10 doctoral dissertations were defended.

Honorary Academician of the International Academy of Higher Education Sciences.
