Mahir Unal (born July 1, 1966) is a Turkish politician.

Biography
He was born on July 1, 1966 in the area of Elbistan silt Kahramanmaras. In 1984, he graduated from high school in Istanbul. In 1991 he graduated from the Theological Department of the University of Marmara. In 1997, he received a master's degree from Istanbul University, then received a doctorate there [1] .
Since 1992 he worked as a teacher. In 2005, he was appointed advisor to the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce .
In 2003, Unal joined the Justice and Development Party and began teaching at the Party’s Political Academy. Mahir Unal also worked in the election headquarters of a number of parties in Malaysia, Lebanon, Cyprus, Egypt and Iraq [2] .
In 2011, Unal was elected a member of the Great National Assembly from the Justice and Development Party. He was re-elected in June and November 2015 [3] .
From November 2015 to May 2016, Mahir Unal served as Minister of Culture of Turkey [4] .
Personal life
Married, one child. He speaks English and Arabic.
