Content
History
In 2008-2015, the Indonesian Super League was played. After 2 rounds on April 17, 2015, the Super League was interrupted [1] . A new Super League draw is due to begin at the end of October 2015 and be completed in August 2016 [2] . However, certain difficulties did not allow to start the tournament. In the end, in January 2016, the Indonesian teams agreed not to use the abbreviation ISL in the name of the new tournament [3] .
At the end of February, the start date of the new tournament was proposed and approved on April 15, 2016. The highest football tournament was called the Indonesia Football Championship ( indon. Kejuaraan Sepak Bola Indonesia ). The number of participants has been increased to 18.
