Khynsom ( cor. 큰섬 ) is the largest island in the territory of the modern Tumangan River Delta with an area of about 4 km². Noctundo , formerly the largest delta island with an area of about 32 square meters. km, connected with the northern part of the land due to the shift of the delta to the south and the dying off of the northern branches. Khynsom is located south of the channel line of the main channel of the Tumangan, and, under the 1990 agreement, is part of the DPRK [1] . Administratively subordinate to the province of Hamgyon-Pukto . There is no resident population due to the threat of flooding. The island, like the entire Tumangan delta, plays an important role in maintaining the species diversity of migratory waterfowl.
