History
The agreement on the creation of the company was signed in 1960. Construction of the plant began in 1961 , and the first products were released in 1965 . Initially, the capacity of the steelmaking plant was 0.5 million tons, the capacity of the rolling mill - 0.4 million tons.
By 1996, the company's steelmaking capacity had reached 3 million tons [3] .
In 2002, the company entered the Iskenderun Metallurgical Plant.

At the end of 2015, the company's revenue amounted to $ 4.382 billion, which is 16.6% lower than the 2014 level. Net profit Erdemir Group for 2015 amounted to $ 0.414 billion (-43.4%) [4] .
Crude steel production in 2015 amounted to 8.93 million tons (+ 5.1%), which makes the company the largest producer of this material in Turkey. According to the results of the period, iron ore production amounted to 2.422 million tons [4] .
Owners and Management
Owned by Ataer Holding A.Ş. is 49.29% of the group. The company itself owns 3.08% of the shares, 47.63% in free circulation [4] .
The position of the chairman and managing director is Ali Pandyr [5] .
