Biography
At the beginning of his career, he specialized in hurdling, combining performances at distances of 110 and 400 meters. For a long time I didn’t have high results, after which I decided to try myself in a “smooth” run for 1 lap. In the first season after a change in specialization, he became the silver medalist of the national championship with a personal record of 46.56. Thanks to this achievement, he earned a call to the national team, in which he made his debut in the international arena at the European Championship 2012 . In a personal form, Jan was able to overcome the stage of preliminary races, and in the semifinal he took 20th place in the overall standings.
He played in the relay at the 2013 World Cup (the Czechs were far from getting into the decisive race) and in the final of the 2014 European Championship (7th place).
2015 was one of the most successful years in Jan’s career. At the country's winter championship, he set a personal record of 46.21 and took second place, losing only to world champion Pavel Maslak . I was able to qualify for the semifinals of the European Championship indoors in person, and in the relay 4x400 meters I won the bronze medal with a national record (3.04.09) [1] . In the summer, he took third place in the 400-meter race at the Universiade in the Korean city of Gwangju : for this, Yang needed to show the best result in his career in the finals - 45.73 [2] .
At the 2016 European Championships, together with Pavel Maslak , Michal Desensky and Patrick Shorm, he set the Czech record in the preliminary relay race - 3.02.66. In the final, they were not able to improve the result, and they finished fourth.
Trained under the guidance of his father, Jan Tesarj Sr. [3] .
