Socialist Party - Wide Front of Ecuador (Spanish: Partido Socialista - Frente Amplio de Ecuador ) - The left political party of Ecuador . One of the oldest existing parties in the country (founded in 1931, but acted illegally for a long time). It has existed in its modern form since 2002. The wide front is an alliance with the Socialist Party of six other parties: the Communist Party of Ecuador , the People’s Committee, the Socialist Revolutionary Party, the Revolutionary Left Christian Movement, the Left Unity Movement and the Second Liberation Movement.

In the parliamentary elections on October 20, 2002, the party won 1st place out of 100. Leon-Roldos Aguilera, presidential candidate from SP-WFE, received 15.5% of the vote (2002).
In the 2006 presidential election , the candidate from the socialists was Rafael Correa , who received the majority of votes in the second round. According to preliminary data, the SP-ShFE will be represented in parliament and is one of the five largest parliamentary parties in the country's Congress (2006).
The party is represented in the regional association of political parties - the Permanent Conference of Political Parties of Latin America ( La Conferencia Permanente de Partidos Políticos de América Latina , COPPPAL ).
