Biography
Born on January 29, 1911 in the village of Safontievo, Tver Province, now Kuvshinovsky District, Tver Region.
His grandfather Guryan and father Ephraim worked at a paper mill in the Tver province . [1] In 1928, Vasily came to the Balakhna pulp and paper mill in the city of Balakhna, Nizhny Novgorod province, where he began to work as a paper machine operator. In 1932 - 1935 he passed military service in the Red Army - was an acoustics in the Baltic. Immediately after the end of the service, he arrived in the village of Krasnokamsk (now a city), took part in the start-up of a pulp and paper mill and in the development of the first domestic paper machine.
In 1936, Vasily Rogachev was a delegate to the Extraordinary Congress of Soviets , which adopted the Constitution of the USSR . In 1939 he joined the CPSU (b) / CPSU . Member of World War II [2] since October 1941 . In 1943 he served in the communications company of the 1336th Infantry Regiment of the 319th Infantry Division , foreman . In 1944 he was wounded, in 1945 he was a lieutenant of the party organizer of the battalion of the 491st rifle regiment of the 159th rifle division of the 1st Far Eastern Front. He was a member of the Soviet-Japanese war .
Demobilized from the army in 1947, he returned to Krasnokamsk to the same pulp and paper mill. Over time, he earned the fame of one of the innovators of the paper industry. In 1961, he was the first in the USSR to cast coated paper . In the same year he became a delegate to the XXI Congress of the CPSU . [3] Worked at Kama Pulp and Paper Mill until retirement.
He lived in Krasnokamsk. He died on April 18, 1998 .

Memory

Rewards
- By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 29, 1961 for outstanding achievements in the development of the pulp and paper industry, Vasily Efremovich Rogachev was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Hammer and Sickle Medal. - He was also awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree (1985), the Red Star (1945) and medals, including “For Courage” (1943) and “For Labor Valor” (1960).
- The first "Honorary Citizen of the city of Krasnokamsk" (1968). [6]
