Friedenskreuzer ( German: Friedenskreuzer ) - the name of a series of commemorative coins in denominations of 1 cruiser and tokens minted in the Grand Duchy of Baden in honor of the Frankfurt Peace Treaty . The event led to the completion of the Franco-Prussian war of 1870-1871 and the creation of the German Empire .

There are 2 official types of Friedenscraiser. On the obverse of one of them below the emblem is the inscription “SCHEIDE-MÜNZE” ( Russian. Changeable coin ), the other - “1 KREUZER”. The reverse contains in the center an eight-pointed star with rays extending from it and the inscription “FRIEDENS- / FEIER / 1871”, as well as the circular inscription “ZU DES DEUTCHEN REICHES”, which means Russian. To the celebration by the German Empire of the world 1871 [1] [2] .
In addition to the officially issued coins at the State Mint, the Frieden Scratchers include coin-like tokens of the cities of Karlsruhe , Offenburg and Bühl . Although they were not legal tender, they were completely repeated in form by the Frieden Scratchers and pointed to a great celebration of the event in the city [3] .
