The first Bashkir lyric opera “Waves of Agideli” (“Aғiҙel tulgyndary") by Z. G. Ismagilov consists of 4 acts. It was written in 1969.
The premiere of "Waves of Agideli" took place on the stage of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater (GTOiB) on February 24, 1972.

Story
The work "Waves of Agideli" was written by composers in the tradition of Russian opera classics.
The opera takes place in the 60s of the XX century. The plot is based on the conflict between strict and morally clean Gulzifa with her beloved boyfriend egocentric Zaynulla. The relationship between the heroes leads to the death of Gulzifa. The opera used scenes of nature and rural life.
The music was written with the national flavor of Bashkir folk music ( Uzun-kuy , kyska-kyu , takmak).
Rewards
In 1973, the composer Zagir Ismagilov was awarded the State Prize of the RSFSR im. M. I. Glinka [1] .
