Geography
Turin is located 10 km northeast of the center of Maryina Gorka . The agro-town is stretched along the right bank of the Svisloch River, in the boundaries of it a canalized stream flows into the river. The P59 motorway passes through Turin on the Maryina Gorka - Cherven section, other local roads lead to the surrounding villages. The nearest railway station is in Maryina Gorka ( Minsk - Gomel line ).
History
First mentioned as the village of Turino in 1536 [2] . The estate changed owners many times, it belonged to the Kostevichs, Radziwills , Guts , Golovchinsky and others. In 1779, the Turin-Zadvorye estate was part of the Pukhovichi estate of the Igumen district .
As a result of the second division of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (1793) Turin became part of the Russian Empire , in the Igumen district . In 1841, the village burned down and was rebuilt a year later [2] . In 1855 the Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord was built (it burned down during the Great Patriotic War [3] ), in 1869 a public school was opened in the village. In 1879, in the village of Turin-Zadvorye, there were 604 inhabitants, 44 yards, in the village of Turin-Zarechny, 294 residents, 44 yards, a church, a public school, and a store were operating [2] .
Since August 20, 1924 Turin in the Pukhovichi district, the center of the village council. During the Great Patriotic War, the village was partially burned.
