Biography
Born on January 7, 1928 in Yerevan in the family of the writer Suren Kagramanovich Arevshatyan (1896-1972) and his spouse Susanna Khristoforovny (1902-1992). The elder brother, Edward Surenovich Arevshatyan (1926–2007), was the Honored Architect of the Armenian SSR.
- 1946-1951 - Yerevan State University .
- 1954-1957 - Junior Researcher, Philosophy Sector, Armenian National Academy of Sciences.
- 1957-1959 - Senior Researcher, Department of Philosophy, National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.
- 1972-1979 - Senior Researcher, and since 1990 the head of the group of the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.
- 1975-1978 - taught at Yerevan State University.
- 1959-1982 - Head of the Department, and from 1982 to 2007 - Director of the Matenadaran .
- 1986-1989 - Founder Chairman of the Armenian Cultural Foundation.
- 1972 - Doctor of Philosophy.
- 1978 - Laureate of the State Prize of the Armenian SSR .
- 1993, Paris - Full member of Ararat international academies.
- 1995, Moscow - Full member of the natural sciences and humanities.
- 1996 - Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia .
- 1998 - Full member of the problems of studying national security.
- 2001 - Honorary Citizen of Yerevan .
He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (August 22, 1986), the medal "For Services to the Fatherland" of the 1st degree (September 16, 2010) [1] , the Order of the Armenian Apostolic Church "Saints Sahak and Mesrop" (2004). Commander of the Order of Arts and Literature ( France , 01/15/2009).
