Shalem (variants: Shalimmu, Shalim, Salim, Salem, Shulmanu, formed from the root S-LM ; Heb. שָׁלֶם ) - in Western Semitic mythology, the gods of evening dawn and prosperity [2] . Twin brother of Shahar , god of the morning dawn [3] [4] . Shalem and Shahar are the children of Rahmayu (sometimes Asirat, identified with Anat). God of the Jebusites . The bearer of happiness and prosperity, contributed to the harvest of bread and wine [1] .

In Palestine, Shalimmu was apparently considered the founder and patron (along with Elon , possibly a hypostasis of Ilus ) of Jerusalem (in Hebrew Yerushal, "founded by Shalim") [5] .
