Krauja ( Latvian. Krauja ) is a town in the Daugavpils region of Latvia . Included in the Nauensky parish . It is located on the right bank of the Western Dvina near the regional road P65 ( Vetsstropi - Krauya). Daugavpils city is about 11 km away. According to data for 2015, 1022 people lived in the settlement [1] . There is a school of music and arts, a youth and sports center, an orphanage, a library, a kindergarten, a post office, and a medical practice. Nearby is the Krauya Daugavpils - Indra railway station.

History
The locality developed around the former Goftenberg estate.
In Soviet times, Krauja was part of the Vecpilssa Village Council of the Daugavpils District . The village was located Daugavpils meliorative and construction management [2] .
