The 2017 World Championships in Athletics Relay was held April 22–23 at the Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau . The capital of the Bahamas has hosted these competitions for the third time in a row. Were played 9 sets of medals. According to the sum of points in all disciplines, the team prize "Golden Relay Wand" was awarded. The third time he won the US team.

In the program of the championship again there were changes in comparison with the previous draw . The place of the distance Swedish relay (1200 + 400 + 800 + 1600 meters) in the program was taken by the mixed relay 4 × 400 meters [1] .
The competition was attended by 546 athletes from 35 countries, of which 307 men and 239 women. The largest number of teams showed up in the 4 × 100 meters relay for men (21), the smallest - for women in the 4 × 800 meters relay (5) [2] .
