Born on September 29, 1954 in the village of Podyarkov , Peremyshlyansky district , Lviv region , USSR . Ukrainian , father Fedor Mikhailovich ( 1929 ) and mother Anna Petrovna ( 1930 ) - pensioners; wife Nadezhda Mikhailovna ( 1968 ) - economist; daughter Olga ( 1975 ) - economist; sons of Ostap ( 1990 ), Bogdan.
Education: Ivan Franko Lviv State University , ec. faculty ( 1971 - 1976 ), economist; graduate student at the department of political economy, Lviv University ( 1979 - 1982 ); PhD thesis "The Efficiency of the Commodity Turnover of the Means of Production in the Period of Developed Socialism" ( 1982 ).
