UATV is a Ukrainian international broadcasting channel, part of the SE “Multimedia foreign broadcasting platform of Ukraine”. He started broadcasting on October 1, 2015. Broadcasting is conducted in Ukrainian and Russian every 30 minutes in turns, with English subtitles.

The channel was created in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the system of broadcasting of Ukraine”, adopted on December 8, 2015. The goal of the channel is “to provide access to a foreign audience for objective, relevant and complete information about events in Ukraine and to form and maintain a positive image of Ukraine in the world.” The main target audience of the channel is the Russian-speaking foreign audience (including the Ukrainian diaspora) and the Russian-speaking foreign audience (including the Russian diaspora) [1] . The channel broadcasts through satellites Amos-3 , Azerspace-1 , Galaxy 19, as well as on the Internet on its own channel on YouTube .
According to the first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andrei Parubiy , the channel was created to participate in the information war against "Kremlin propaganda" [2] .
Foundation History
The program of activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine , approved on December 11, 2014, among other measures of the "new defense policy" called the launch of the broadcasting until the end of 2015 [3] . Since May 2014, the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Victoria Syumar [4] , has been involved in creating the concept of the broadcast channel. The Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, Yurii Stets, announced the creation of the Ukraine Tomorrow channel in February 2015, stating that the US ambassador and a number of funds and business structures are willing to help fund the channel [5] . The draft law “On the system of broadcasting of Ukraine” was submitted to the Parliament by the Cabinet of Ministers on July 13, 2015 [6] . The first project proposed to create a state-owned enterprise “Ukraine Tomorrow“ Foreign Language Broadcasting Company of Ukraine ”on the basis of the state-owned TV and Radio Company“ World Service “Ukrainian Television and Radio Broadcasting” and Banking Television LLC and subordinate the enterprise to the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine [7] .
In early August, it became known that the international group of companies Group DF, controlled by Ukrainian oligarch Dmitry Firtash , filed an application for registration of the trademark “Ukraine tomorrow” with names in Russian, Ukrainian, English and German. Representatives of the company said that they had used this brand in 2014 for public events with the participation of Dmitry Firtash. Group DF confirmed its exclusive rights to the brand in eight classes according to the International Classification of Goods and Services [8] [9] , after which Yuriy Stets was forced to change the name of the channel to UATV [10] .
