The Ministry of the Interior of the Republika Srpska , the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska ( Serb. Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpske , MUP RS ) is one of the ministries of the government dealing with internal affairs of the Republika Srpska . Today, the post of Minister of the Interior of the Republika Srpska is held by Dragan Lukac. History
On April 1, 1992, the First Minister of the Interior of the Republika Srpska was declared, in then Serbian Sarajevo . Micho Stanišić was elected as the first minister. The need to create this ministry was due to historical circumstances that took place during the collapse of Yugoslavia .
The ministry was divided into sectors of public safety and state security, and they were led by assistant ministers. Later, the work of the state security agencies was transferred to the Republika Srpska Intelligence and Security Service, and was completely reduced to its cancellation.
Destination
The duties of the Police include: [1]
- the provision of operational and professional assistance in order to ensure the protection of life, personal security, human rights and freedoms, the protection of the constitutional system from violent threats and changes to the security of the Republic in accordance with the law;
- protection of all forms of ownership of a citizen;
- prevention of criminal offenses, detection of crime scenes, search, arrest and surrender of persons who committed crimes to the competent authorities;
- maintaining public order and peace;
- protection of persons and objects;
- ensuring security at public events, festivals, cultural and sports events and in the form of other permitted forms of mass gathering of citizens;
- Safety and traffic control on the roads; some safety tasks in other areas of transport and assistance in eliminating the consequences of accidents (ES) leading to a threat to the safety or life of people or property on a larger scale; assistance and assistance to other bodies; operations to protect the civilian population, as well as in specific tasks of fire, preventive and technical protection during transportation, the use or storage of hazardous materials (substances).
