The airport provides domestic passenger transportation on the routes Moscow - Cherepovets - Veliky Ustyug and St. Petersburg - Cherepovets - Veliky Ustyug . The airport is operated by Severstal Airlines, which operates flights on Yak-40 aircraft twice a week.
Since 2011, repair work has begun to increase the runway and the reconstruction of the airport complex. In 2016, the airport was included in the federal program, according to which about 1.3 billion rubles will be allocated for reconstruction. [one]
In August 2019, the governor of the Vologda region announced that the reconstruction of the airport would be completed by August 20, 2020.
