The Academy of Management was established on January 29, 1991 on the basis of the Republican Intersectoral Institute for Advanced Training of Executive Officers and Specialists in the Branches of the National Economy [5] . Submits to the President of the Republic of Belarus . Coordination of activities is carried out by the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus . In 1995, the Academy of Management was granted presidential status.
The Academy of Management includes 3 institutes, including a large research institute of theory and practice of public administration , 6 faculties , 20 departments , 7 centers, 8 structural divisions and 4 departments.
The activities of the Academy are aimed at the formation of a national school of public administration. To this end, new curricula are being implemented and research is being conducted in the field of management theory , law and economics [6] .
The Academy of Management has implemented a quality management system ( ISO 9000 ), which is designed to ensure the functioning of the academy in accordance with international standards, and is aimed at constantly improving all areas of its activities [7] .
For admission to the Institute of Management of the Academy of Management, it is necessary to successfully pass centralized testing .
History
On January 29, 1991, in order to increase the efficiency of training, retraining and advanced training of personnel of government bodies, heads and specialists of the national economy for working in a market economy, the Council of Ministers of the BSSR decided to form the leadership of the Belarusian State Institute on the basis of the abolished Intersectoral Institute for Continuing Education national economy to them. Cultural and social life
In December 2008, the project of the Academy "School of the Young Leader" in the nomination "Youth Leader of the XXI Century" in the competition for the best organization of ideological and educational work in higher educational institutions received the First Degree Diploma of the Ministry of Education [8] . At the end of 2007, the School of the Young Leader became an organic part of the new Minsk Change project, jointly with the Youth Affairs Department of the Minsk City Executive Committee.
Within the framework of the meetings of the Professional Dialogue Club, meetings are held between students and people who have achieved success in their professional activities [9] . The Academy of Management regularly organizes and holds intellectual tournaments: “Own game”, “What?” Where? When? ”,“ Brain Ring ” [10] .
The academy has primary organizations of the Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers NGO [11] , the Belarusian Red Cross Society [12] , the Belarusian Republican Youth Union NGO [13], and trade union organizations [14] . There is also a Public Legal Reception Office for Legal Aid ( Legal Clinic ) [15] .
Student Organizations
Student Government
The Student Council of the hostel was established on November 8, 2004 and is the highest body of student self-government living in the hostel . The main task is the organization of leisure, improvement of life and the formation of an active life position among students. At the student council

The student council of the hostel holds joint events with the hostels of BSU , BSEU , BNTU , BSUFK and other universities. According to the results of the work for the 2008-2009 academic year, the hostel of the Academy of Management took 1st place in the competition of student dormitories in the Sovetsky District and 2nd place in the city competition of "Best Student Dormitory", and in November 2009 took 1st place in the nomination "The best rest room" [16] .
The Student Council of IAK was established on November 14, 2007 , to assist student youth on a variety of issues. The strategic goal of student self-government at the Academy of Management can be formulated as training a citizen who is able to participate in government, make and implement socially significant decisions [17] .
Student Scientific Society
Much attention at the Academy of Management is given to the research work of students (NIRS), graduate students and young scientists. Students-members of SSS participate in various conferences, olympiads, round tables, and competitions. Meetings and excursions are held, but most of the work takes place as part of the activities of student science clubs.
At present, there are 12 scientific clubs in the structure of SSS: Logos, Aequitas, Civilist, International, International Law Club, SCOFL, Computer Club, Strategist, Polis Political Club, Club Clio ”,“ Growth ”and“ Econ ” [18] .
Creative Lab
A creative laboratory is a form of support for student initiatives. The laboratory provides students and students with the opportunity to express themselves, contributes to the harmonious development of their personalities. Includes studios: [19]

Newspaper "Mirror"
The Zerkalo newspaper was published on March 1, 2002 , in the middle of April 2003, the Zerkalo newspaper had an Internet version, and since October 2004, the Zerkalo was published 2 times a month with a circulation of 299 copies. In February 2008, according to the results of the workshop “Winter School of Student Journalism”, the publication won the nomination “The Best Newspaper of the Contest: Urgent Issue!” And took 2nd place as “The Best Internet Version”. And in April of the same year, the newspaper was awarded a diploma of the Republican creative competition among journalists of print and electronic media “The Leader of the 21st Century”. In January 2009, she crossed the line of the hundredth issue. In February 2010, the editorial board of the Zerkalo newspaper won the nomination “For Corporate Spirit” in the contest of journalistic skills held as part of the Republican workshop “Winter School of Student Journalism” [20] .
Sports
The General Academic Department of Physical Culture was established on September 9, 1993. The following disciplines are assigned to the department of physical education:

The curriculum includes: 3 basic programs, 9 programs for the number of special courses for the main and preparatory departments (" Aerobics ", " Athletism ", " Volleyball ", " Basketball ", " Tennis ", " Swimming ", "Basics of martial arts and self-defense" , “Improving walking and running”, “ Futsal ”), 8 sports specialization programs for sports improvement groups (“Aerobics”, “Athletism”, “Volleyball”, “Basketball”, “Tennis”, “Swimming”, “ Futsal "," Sambo "), 7 programs for groups of a special educational department (for students of 1-4 courses," L ski training ”,“ Improving swimming ”,“ Hatha Yoga ”) [21] .
In January 2006, the Academy hosted the Interuniversity Conference “Healthy Lifestyle - the Basis of Creative Longevity”, in which 12 universities of the city of Minsk took part. In January 2007, this conference received the status of a republican - I Republican scientific-methodological conference "Healthy lifestyle - the basis of professional and creative longevity." And in January 2009, the conference reached the international level - I International Scientific and Methodological Conference “Healthy Lifestyle - the Basis of Professional and Creative Longevity” [22] .
According to the results of participation in the IX republican exhibition of scientific and methodological literature and pedagogical experience “Development of physical culture and sports, the formation of a healthy lifestyle for students and students”, the Department of Physical Culture of the Academy of Management was awarded a diploma of the 1st degree of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus for the quality of educational and methodical literature.
National teams of the Academy of Management for Athletics, Aerobics, Basketball, Indoor Soccer, Sambo and Judo , Volleyball, Swimming and Tennis were created. During the existence of the Department of Physical Culture at the Academy of Management, the following were prepared: 1 master of sports of international class ; 2 masters of sports and about 200 sportsmen of mass categories [23] .
Educational and scientific activities
The Academy of Management employs highly qualified teaching staff - well-known scientists, heads and specialists of the Presidential Administration, the Council of Ministers , the Constitutional , Supreme and Economic Courts, the prosecutor's office , the bar , customs authorities, the State Control Committee and the State Security Committee , deputies of the National Assembly , scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus .
The educational process at the Academy of Management is aimed at implementing the state personnel policy in the field of training, retraining and advanced training of personnel in the field of management [24] .
Student Scientific Society, Council of Young Scientists have been created and are actively working [25] .
At the Academy of Management 2 Councils for the defense of dissertations work :
- D 07 01 01 - for the degree of doctor (candidate) of economic sciences;
- To 07 01 01 - for the degree of candidate of political sciences.
The Academy of Management is the organizer of the annual international scientific and practical conferences “State regulation of the economy and improving the efficiency of business entities” and “Information resource management”, as well as the republican scientific and practical conference of young scientists, graduate students and students “Theoretical, methodological and applied aspects of public administration” .
Every year, the university organizes events in which both students, undergraduates, graduate students, and teachers take part. In particular, the competitions:

- "Young scientist of the year"
- “The hope of science is the student of the year."
The Academy of Management publishes "Scientific Proceedings of the Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus" and the scientific and practical journal "Management Problems" [26] . Both publications are included in the “List of scientific publications of the Republic of Belarus for publishing the results of dissertation research” [27] .
Management Issues Magazine
The first issue of the magazine was published in August 2001 with a circulation of 500 copies, with a volume of 8.0 conditional printed pages. Published in the first issue of 14 articles. In 2007, the publication was published in more than 2,500 copies, with a volume of 12 conditional printed pages. Today, out of 31 members of the editorial board, 2 academicians of the NAS of Belarus, 1 corresponding member of the NAS of Belarus , 21 doctors of sciences, professor; 4 candidates of sciences, associate professor. By order of the Higher Attestation Commission of January 18, 2006 No. 8, the journal was included in the list of scientific publications of the Republic of Belarus for publishing the results of dissertation research on philosophical, economic, legal, political, sociological and psychological sciences. The journal "Management Problems" is published with partial funding from the State Committee for Science and Technology. The magazine became the winner of the II National Printed Media Competition and received the Golden Literature in the nomination "The best scientific, popular science magazine" [28] .
Library
The library of the Academy of Management contains publications in various languages, and today it has more than 300 thousand copies of books and more than 40 thousand copies of periodicals [29] . The library is located in two buildings, with a subscription and three modern reading rooms. The fund has a 32-volume Encyclopedia Britannica , the World Book Encyclopedia in 22 volumes, the Big Encyclopedia in 62 volumes and other valuable publications.

Upon admission to the specialty “Public Administration and Law”, “Public Administration and Economics”, applicants are required to register from March 5 to March 31 for a professional psychological interview (test) and pass it from April 5 to 30 in accordance with the Instruction on Procedure conducting a professional-psychological interview or testing in higher educational institutions, approved by the Decree of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus of February 26, 2008 No. 17.

The uniqueness of the training system at the Institute lies in the construction of training on the basis of a system of integrated knowledge in the fields of management, economics, law and information sciences. For example, students of the specialty "Public Administration and Law" study not only legal disciplines, but also without fail social, humanitarian, administrative, psychological and economic; students of the specialty "Public Administration and Economics" receive thorough knowledge in the field of law; students of the specialty "Information Resource Management" receive integrated knowledge in the fields of management, economics, information resources, systems and technologies .
Graduate
The master's degree at the Academy of Management ensures the formation of knowledge and skills in research, scientific and pedagogical work and ends with the assignment of a master’s degree and the issuance of a master’s diploma, providing the right to further studies in graduate school and (or) employment, taking into account the previously awarded qualifications of specialists with higher education and graduate studies [30] .

In doctoral and postgraduate studies of the Academy of Management, the training of highly qualified scientists began in 1991, is carried out on a competitive basis in 15 specialties and is aimed at improving the qualifications of managers, faculty and researchers . The international cooperation of the Academy of Management is aimed at its integration into the world system of education and science, the export of scientific and educational services, the study and implementation of international best practices in the training, retraining and advanced training of personnel in the field of management.

Meetings are organized with the leadership of the Academy of Management and speeches to teachers, students and students of the heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states and organizations accredited in Belarus. Heads of diplomatic missions visit the Academy of Management Russia Kazakhstan Ukraine China Cuba Venezuela Turkey India UK France Korea Of Israel Poland Germany Iran Lithuania Moldova Turkmenistan Estonia , as well as the UNDP resident coordinator in the Republic of Belarus [33] .
International Associations
The Academy of Management is one of the founders of the Eurasian Association of National Academies and Institutes of Public Administration and Public Service [34] . Since 2003 , the Academy of Management has been a full-fledged institutional member of the Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe ( NISPAcee ) [35] and an associate member of the editorial board of the journal Problems of Theory and Practice of Management of the International Research Institute of Management Problems .
Rating in Belarus
In 2013, in the ranking of Belarusian universities published by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Academy of Management took 36th place out of 48. However, on January 10, 2014, the university was removed from this rating. The press service of the ministry said that "a technical error occurred": [36]
The Academy sees the main potential in the training of civil servants who already have higher education, that is, in advanced training and retraining of personnel.
In 2017, the Academy of Management climbed to 3rd place in Belarus in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities World University Rankings.
