Robert “Bob” Arum ( born Robert “Bob” Arum ; December 8, 1931, New York , USA ) is an American lawyer, boxing promoter and businessman. Founder of the promotion company Top Rank Promotions . Member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame .

Biography

Born December 8, 1931 in Brooklyn ( New York ) in a Jewish family [1] . He studied at the school of Erasmus [2] New York University and Harvard Law School . He worked in the office of the district attorney in New York, in the Department of Justice [3] .

First participated in a boxing match in 1962 ( Floyd Patterson - Sonny Liston I) [4] .

In 1973 he founded the promotion company Top Rank Promotions , which organizes boxing fights.

During his career, Arum has organized more than 400 fights for the world title. He worked with such well-known boxers as Mohammed Ali , Joe Frazier , George Foreman , Marvin Hagler , Roberto Duran , Alexis Arguello , Carlos Monson , Thomas Hearns , Julio Cesar Chavez , Sugar Ray Leonard , Oscar De La Hoya , Eric Morales , Miguel Cottages , Miguel Cottages Floyd Mayweather Jr. , Manny Pacquiao and many others [4] .

Family

Arum has three children from his first marriage: sons John Arum and Richard Arum and daughter Elizabeth Arum [5] . John died in 2010, at the age of 49. He died during a mountain climb to the top of Storm King, near Seattle [6] [7] . In 1991, Bob married Lovi Dubuff, who had a son, Todd, and a daughter, Dan, from another marriage [8] [9] .

Recognition
