Biography

Dmitry Gvazava was born in Abkhazia in the city of Gudauta .

He lived in Abkhazia until he was 4 years old, after which he moved to Moscow with his family. He graduated from Moscow school N57 in 2005, then he entered the law faculty of Moscow State University and graduated from it in 2010.

In 2010, Dmitry began to engage in amateur karting, where he was coached by Alexei Karachev, with whom Dmitry performs in the Mitjet Series Russia racing series.

In 2015, he participated in the Formula-Masters , where he scored 94 points in two stages.

In the same 2015, Guzava took the second place in the Cup of Krasnodar Territory Mitjet 2L.

In May 2016, Dmitry took part in the Formula 1 support race on the Sochi Autodrom circuit. The support race for the Royal Russian Grand Prix race was made by the Mitjet Series Russia series, which by that time had already gained quite high popularity and gathered 17 riders at the start. Dmitry took 8th place at the end of the weekend F1.

And on October 15, 2016, Dmitry won the Russian Cup in the Mitjet 2L class. The cup consisted of 5 stages, and the first stage, held on the Moscow Raceway , was the WTCC World Championship support race. Following the results of the first stage, Dmitry again took 8th place. However, the pilot was soon able to gain a foothold in the leaderboard. The final stage, held at the Sochi Autodrom , was to determine the name of the winner of the competition. At that time, the first in the overall classification was the famous Russian racer Boris Shulmeister , in the second position was Dmitry Gvazava, the third was Alexei Karachev.

In 2017, Dmitry Gvazava takes part in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters support race on the Moscow Raceway . In the first race, Dmitry became the second, and the second race turned into a crash with an opponent, the pilot was left without a prize.

In the same year, Gvazava plays in the Russian Cup Mitjet 2L, where he is fighting an irreconcilable fight with Ivan Lukashevich and Alexei Karachev, the pilots of the Lukoil Racing team. Of the 12 races, Ivan Lukashevich loses only one, and he loses it to Dmitry Gvazava. Dmitry becomes the vice champion at the end of the championship.

In 2018, Guzawa accepts the offer to become a pilot of Lukoil Racing. The leadership sets the task of the rider - to repeat the success of 2016. Gvazava copes with the expectations and with a large margin, winning 10 races out of 12, becomes the first. After this victory, Guzawa announces that he is likely to leave the Mitjet series to try his hand at the GT4 European Cup .

Dmitry promotes safe traffic in the city. He repeatedly met with the head of the traffic police department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Moscow, V. Kovalenko , on the prohibition of street racing in the city. A professional racer sees a solution to the problem of dangerous for young people riding in the construction of special tracks for sports riding .

In Abkhazia, the head of the Gagra State Automobile Inspectorate, Hajarat Bganba, contacted Dmitry and suggested that the rider begin working together with the youth of Abkhazia to clarify the need to comply with traffic rules and use seat belts [2] .

As I understand it, the wedding season is now in Abkhazia. In this regard, accidents in the country became more frequent. Of course, first of all, the driver is to blame for all this, and then we can talk about insufficient work from the traffic police. On the example of Moscow, I can say that motorsport is promoted there, and drivers are taken away from public roads to specialized routes. It can be kartodromes, where fans of fast driving will be able to conduct competitions among themselves, show their skills and receive the necessary dose of adrenaline.

On November 8, President of Abkhazia Khadzhimba, Raul Dzhumkovich received the Russian champion in auto racing Mitjet 2L and supported the initiatives of the rider [3] .
