The first season, consisting of eight half-hour episodes [2] , became available online on the Netflix platform on September 22, 2016 [3] . The action of the series takes place in Chicago [4] .

In March 2016, it became known about the order of Netflix for the first season of the series of eight episodes, directed and written by Joe Swanberg. The first season of the TV series “Easier than simple” received positive reviews from critics. On the Rotten Tomatoes aggregator site, the show holds 92% of “freshness,” which is based on 13 reviews with an average rating of 8/10 [9] . On the Metacritic , the season has 74 points out of a hundred, which is based on 9 “generally positive” reviews from critics [10] .
