Le Ovald ( French Le Hohwald ) is a commune in the northeast of France in the Grand Est region [1] (former Alsace - Champagne - Ardennes - Lorraine ), department of the Lower Rhine , district of Celeste-Ersten , canton of Obernai [2] . Until March 2015, the commune was administratively part of the abolished canton of Barr (Celeste-Ersten district).

Economics
In 2010, out of 337 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years old), 258 were economically active , 79 inactive (activity indicator 76.6%, in 1999 - 71.4%). Of the 258 active able-bodied residents, 242 people worked (142 men and 100 women), 16 were unemployed (6 men and 10 women). Among 79 able-bodied inactive citizens, 23 were pupils or students , 26 were pensioners , and another 30 were inactive for other reasons [9] [10] .
