The Coyote Buttes slope is one of the most popular natural attractions on the Colorado Plateau. It began to form almost two hundred million years ago, during the Jurassic period. Orange-red dunes, composed of soft sandstone, due to the high calcium content in the soil, they have compacted, and the rains and winds created smooth curves, forming natural twisting spirals. In the northern part of the slope, where the “Wave” is located - an arc-shaped hollow, the relief curves of which resemble the movements of the wind, one can observe the most dramatic landscapes.
