Biography
In 1750 - translator of the Old Tatar language (Volga Turkic) in the office of the Orenburg Governor General. Several times he made diplomatic trips to the Kazakhs of the Middle and Younger Zhuzes . In 1778-1779 he handed over the invitation to Sultan Togym in Petersburg .
In 1780-1781, at the head of the Russian embassy, he went through the Kazakh steppes from Orenburg to Bukhara . The records of this journey were published in the second book, Shyғys zhinaғy (Oriental Collection, 1916).
The first dictionary of the Bashkir language is considered to be his handwritten "Translation of words into the Bashkir language", dated 1781 [1] .
In 1790, Bekchurin and the Orenburg mufti Muhamedzhan Khusainov met with Syrym Datov . In 1795 he participated in the election of Yessim Khan as the Sultan of the Younger Zhuz.
In 1803 he visited Bukhara with a caravan of J.P. Gaverdovsky . In 1817, Bekchurin recorded and published in the newspaper " St. Petersburg Vedomosti " (1839, No. 17) the Kazakh fairy tale "Barca Kelmes" ("Go and not come back").
In 1819 he visited Khiva as part of the Russian embassy.
