Månegarm

Månegarm (from other scand. Mánagarmr , according to Younger Edda - a giant wolf that will swallow the moon at the beginning of Ragnarök ) - a Swedish Viking / folk-metal band founded in 1995. The group changed its former name Antikrist after the first month of rehearsals. [2] Ur Nattvindar's second demo (1997) helped the band sign a deal with Displeased Records, thanks to its more folk-like sound, in particular the presence of violins and female vocals. [2] Before recording their debut album, Nordstjärnans tidsålder (1998), the band hires a new singer, Victor Hemgren. [2] However, the problems with finding a vocalist do not end there, halfway through the recording of the second album, Havets Vargar (2000), Victor leaves the group. [2] It was decided that drummer Eric Grosie would handle the duties of the vocalist. [2] After a short break, the band starts recording their third album, Dödsfärd (2003), which manifests a wide variety of tempos and an increasing presence of clean vocals. [2] The material of the first demos was reissued on the collection Vargaresa - The Beginning (2004), and the fourth album Vredens Tid (2005) was declared the best in the discography, thanks to him the group received invitations to European festivals. [2] After the next release, the acoustic mini-album Urminnes Hävd (The Forest Session) (2006), the band switched to Black Lodge, which released the album Vargstenen (2007). [2]
