Biography
Yoshihisa Hirano was born in the administrative center of Wakayama Prefecture, located in southern Japan . In the early years, his attention was attracted to baroque music , and he began to study the basics of composition while still an inexperienced student. In high school, he found himself in jazz . He was enthralled by the music of great jazz masters such as Miles Davis , Telonius Monk , Eric Dolphy and John Coltrane . Inspired by their work, he dreamed of becoming a jazz musician , but suddenly discovered modern music. Of particular interest to him was John Zorn , who subsequently had a significant influence on him in his youth. The Soviet composer Dmitry Shostakovich also did not leave Hirano indifferent, his symphonies prompted a serious desire to study compositions.
After that, he moved to the United States and entered the Eastman School of Music , where he began to study with Christopher Routh and Joseph Schwanter. Fascinated by books by 20th-century French writers and philosophers such as Georges Bataille , Pierre Klossowski , Andre Peyre de Mandiarg and Jean Genet , he devoted most of his time to reading and music, neglecting school activities. After some time, he completely left school, after which he made his debut as a composer of the film in 2001. Hirano released a large number of soundtracks for television shows, films, anime , games, from classical music to modern.
