The Max Planck Award ( German: Max-Planck-Forschungspreis ) is an award in the field of humanities, natural sciences and technical sciences. Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research . Awarded by the joint jury of the Max Planck Society and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation . This award provides an opportunity for highly qualified scientists from different countries to engage in research projects in collaboration with German scientists.
The award has been awarded since 1990. The number of people awarded was gradually reduced and since 2004, 2 prizes have been awarded per year. The size of the bonus since 2004 is 750,000 euros , which are allocated for a period of three to five years [1] . The scientific field of the prize changes every year. Among the awarded 6 winners of the Nobel Prize. The prize is included in Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of February 6, 2001 N 89 [2] .
In the ranking of international scientific awards from the IREG (International Ranking Expert Group), the Max Planck Prize is included in the top 5 awards in interdisciplinary fields of knowledge (in front of it are the awards of Kyoto , Japan , Albert Einstein and the King Faisal International Prize ) [3] .
