Vasilievsky fortification

Vasilyevsky fortification is an archaeological monument of the Zudy Zavolochsky fortress in the Annunciation rural village of the Velsky district of the Arkhangelsk region of Russia . It is located on the left bank of the Vaga River near the village of Gorodishche (Ignatovskoe).

In terms of the settlement, it is almost square (70 × 65 m), surrounded on three sides by a moat (shaft height up to 1 m), from the north-west - by a double line of shafts. In the cliff of the coast, the remains of the iron smelter were cleared in the form of a cluster of cobblestones coated with clay, and pieces of kritsa . It was examined by A. A. Spitsin and O. V. Ovsyannikov .
