Biography
Born April 30, 1975 in the city of Glukhov, Sumy region of Ukraine. Baptized in infancy.
In 1981-1990 he studied at the secondary school number 4 of the city of Glukhov. In 1990 he entered the feldsher department of the Glukhov Medical School, which he graduated in 1994.
In 1994-1996 he studied at the Glukhov State Pedagogical University at the Faculty of Biology. Simultaneously with training, he carried the obedience of an altar boy in the Three-Anastasievsky Cathedral of the city of Glukhov.
In 1996, he was accepted into the brotherhood of Zadonsky Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery .
On January 5, 1998, the governor of the monastery, Bishop of Zadonsk, Nikon tonsured monasticism with the name Euthymius in honor of the holy martyr Euthymius, Bishop of Sardia. On January 5, 1999, he was tonsured with the same name.
May 6, 2000 ordained to the rank of Hierodeacon.
In 2000-2004 he studied at the Voronezh Theological Seminary. On July 8, 2001, Metropolitan Methodius of Voronezh and Lipetsk was ordained hieromonk.
In 2003 he was appointed dean of the Zadonsky Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery, in 2004 - economist. In 2004 he was appointed chairman of the commission for the canonization of saints of the Lipetsk diocese . In 2008-2013, at the same time as obedience to the monastery’s housekeeper, he was rector of the Church of the Archangel Michael in the village of Skornyakovo, Zadonsky District, Lipetsk Region.
In 2009, he was elevated to the rank of abbot.
In 2011, he was appointed dean of the monasteries of the Lipetsk diocese. With the blessing of the ruling bishop, he oversees the construction and restoration of temples of the Lipetsk diocese [2] .
Since March 2016 - Member of the Diocesan Court of the Lipetsk Diocese.
Hegumen Evfimiy (Maksimenko) is also a member of the public council at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor's Office of Russia in the Lipetsk region.
Bishops
On October 21, 2016, by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, he was elected bishop of Ousmansky, vicar of the Lipetsk and Zadonsk diocese [3] . On October 23, Metropolitan Nikon of Lipetsk and Zadonsky was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite in the Transfiguration Church of Lipetsk by Metropolitan [4] .
On December 1, 2016, the bishop of Usman, Vicar of the Lipetsk and Zadonsk diocese was appointed. The rite was made by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Cyril.
On December 25, 2016, the consecration of Archimandrite Euthymius (Maksimenko) in the bishop of Usman, vicar of the Lipetsk diocese was performed in the church of St. Spyridon of Trimifunta in Nagatinsky Zaton . The consecration was performed by Patriarch Kirill, Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga Barsanuphius , Metropolitan Arseniy of Istrins , Metropolitan of Lipetsk and Zadonsky Nikon , Archbishop of Solnechnogorsk, Sergius (Chashin) , Bishop of Eletsky and Lebedyansky, Maxim [Dmitriev] and Bishop of Valuy ]
