Biography

He was born on May 1, 1914 in a peasant family in the village of Klyni in the Vileika county of the Vilna province, now the Vilna district of the Minsk region of the Republic of Belarus. Byelorussian.

After 1920, this territory was transferred to Poland . Cyril did not study at school, he was hired by a Polish lord. In the fall of 1930, he crossed the border with the USSR and lived in the Byelorussian SSR, where his two older brothers were - one worked in the police in Minsk , the other was the chairman of the collective farm . Vilkot first worked at the state farm as a groom. Then, after completing an educational program for educational programs and tractor drivers in Gomel , he worked as a tractor driver in one of the state farms of the Minsk region .

In 1937, like the brothers, he was repressed, accused as a Polish spy, received 10 years in prison . Vilkot served his punishment in the Magadan region , worked at gold mines. Here in 1942 he graduated from excavator courses and worked as a mining excavator engineer. Working on the E-1003 excavator, I achieved high performance in work. In 1950, he led a team of excavators at the Burkhala mine [1] ( Yagodninsky District of the Magadan Region). In 1956, his team issued more than 200 thousand cubic meters of soil. In the same year, Kirill Grigorievich was rehabilitated.

He continued to work in the Magadan region. Improving working methods, he transferred his experience to other machinists. He wrote a brochure “My experience working with an excavator” about his work experience ( Magadan , 1956). In 1963 he moved from the North to the Perm region , where he continued to work as an excavator, became the foreman of the SMU-1 excavators of the Spetsstroy trust.

In addition to production, he was engaged in social activities, became a member of the CPSU , was elected a delegate to the VI Magadan Regional Party Conference [2] , the XXII Party Congress and the XIII Congress of USSR Trade Unions.

After retiring in 1974, he moved to his homeland in the Byelorussian SSR . He lived in the city of Rechitsa, Gomel region (now the Republic of Belarus ), where he died on March 5, 2000 .

Rewards

  • By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 9, 1961, for outstanding achievements in the development of non-ferrous metallurgy, Vilkot Kirill Grigoryevich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal "Hammer and Sickle."   • He was also awarded medals, including "For Labor Valor" (1960).
