About the album

“Personal ...” is the fourth album release of the performer, released 2 years after the previous release “ Heartbeat ” on October 27, 2012, recorded in Moscow in 2016 at the Monolith label studio. The album is a joint work of Julia Savicheva and her husband Alexander Arshinov. The album cover is made in black and white. In the photo she hugs a man, maybe this is her husband - Alexander Arshinov. The track list includes 13 new songs, each of which is a small personal story of the singer: “ I called the album“ Personal ”, because these are very honest and frank songs that I was afraid to share with fans for a long time. I was afraid because I was worried, I thought that people would not understand them, but now I decided to play roulette ”- commented on the release of the new album, Julia Savicheva [2] .

Criticism Reaction

The album "Personal ..." received, in general, positive reviews from critics. InterMedia critic Alexei Mazhaev rated 3 out of 5 stars. In her review, the author noted that in none of the previous records Julia was so frank in direct contact with the listener. “The verses are quite studentish, and Savicheva recites worse than she sings, but it feels like they were not written“ for sale, ”but were intended for a loved one,” Alexei notes. Mazhaev also says that there are no hits in the album, and indeed by and large pop songs. One of the compositions is called “Romance of a Woman” and, according to the author, this definition could well become the subtitle of the record. “Julia and Sasha recorded a collection of soft ballads and romances, the arrangement of which is dominated by the piano, and the soloist’s voice never sounds loud, demonstrating mainly her ability to work in midtones.” From the catchy melodies, the reviewer singled out the chorus “Camellia” and “City Lights”, also emphasized that the concept of the diary album, the reflection album of “the woman who sings” is not violated anywhere. At the end of his review, Alexey Mazhaev asked only one question: “Why does an ideal couple of newlyweds have such a sad, even tragic attitude?” [1] .
