Nikolai Kupriyanovich Polyakov ( December 17, 1929 , Birzula - February 13, 2009 ) - Soviet military leader, candidate of military sciences, professor , head of the Kiev Higher Engineering Radio Engineering School of Air Defense named after Marshal of Aviation A. I. Pokryshkin , lieutenant general .

Biography
Born December 17, 1929 in the city of Birzul ( Odessa region ). In 1948 he graduated from the special school of the Air Force No. 14 in Odessa . In 1951 - Pushkin Radio Engineering School. From 1959 to 1963 he studied at the military command Academy of Air Defense in the city of Kalinin ( Tver ). In 1976 he graduated from higher academic courses at the Academy of the General Staff of the USSR Armed Forces .
Over the years of service in the USSR Armed Forces , almost all command posts in the system of air defense of the country have been completed : the head of the radar station, the commander of the radar company, the radar battalion of the radio technical regiment and brigade, the head of the RTV corps and a separate air defense army.
From 1974 to 1979, he served as chief of staff of the radioengineering forces of the country's air defense. In 1979, he was appointed head of the Kiev Higher Engineering Radio Engineering School of Air Defense .
He was awarded two orders , many medals , including those of foreign states, and was repeatedly elected as a deputy of local authorities, including the city council .
In June 1989, by age, he was transferred to the reserve. Until 1990, he worked as a professor of the department at Taras Shevchenko Kiev State University .
He died on February 13, 2009 . He was buried in Kiev at the Berkovtsy City Cemetery .
