Saltynsky is a farm in the Uryupinsky district of the Volgograd region of Russia, the administrative center of the Saltynsky rural settlement . Located on the right bank of the Saltynka River , 39 km north of the city of Uryupinsk.

Content
History
Date of establishment not established. The farm was part of the yurt of the village of Mikhailovskaya in the Khopersky District of the Land of the Don Army (since 1870 - the Don Army Region ). According to the information of 1859 [2] and in the List of the inhabited places of the Region, the Don army according to the census of 1873 is listed as the Big Saltyn farm [3] in the List of populated areas of the Earth . In the census of 1897, it is listed as the Saltynsky farm. In 1897, 512 men and 512 women lived in the Saltynsky farm, of which 117 were literate men and 8 were literate women [4] . According to the alphabetical list of the populated areas of the Donskoy Troop Region of 1915, the farm had a farm administration, a parish school , the farm's land allotment was 4686 acres , there were 165 yards in which 681 men and 689 women lived [5] .
Since 1928 - the center of the Saltynsky Village Council of the Novonikolayevsky District of the Khopersky District (abolished in 1930) of the Lower Volga Region (since 1934 - the Stalingrad Region ) [6] Since 1935 - as part of the Khopyersky District of the Stalingrad Region (since 1936, the Stalingrad Region, since 1954 to 1957, the district was part of the Balashov region ). In 1959, in connection with the abolition of the Khopersky district, the Saltynsky farm was transferred to the Uryupinsky district [7] . In 1972, the Saltynsky farm was merged with the Yershilovka farm [8] .
After the war , the Saltynsky state farm was formed. It was created on the basis of the Kalinin enlarged collective farm with the addition of the farms of the Bugrovsky , Pervomaisky and Firsovsky farms to it. In 1992, the state farm "Saltynsky" became a closed joint stock company. [9] .
Geography
The farm is located in a meadow steppe , 150-200 km south of the average climate and wind dividing axis of Voeikov , on the right bank of the Saltynka River (opposite the Mokhovsky and Firsovsky farms), within the Khopersko-Buzuluksky Plain , which is the southern end of the Oksko- Don lowland . The banks of Saltynki are swampy. The center of the farm is located at an altitude of about 90 meters above sea level. Along the coast of Saltynka islets of a floodplain forest [10] . Soils are ordinary chernozems [11] .
The Saltynsky farm is connected with the paved roads with the Bugrovsky (9 km), Pervomaisky (12 km) and Uryupinsk (39 km) farms. By road, the distance to the regional center of Volgograd is 360 km [12] .
- Climate
The climate is temperate continental (according to the Köppen climate classification - Dfb ). The long-term rainfall is 484 mm. During the city, the amount of precipitation is distributed relatively evenly: the largest amount of precipitation falls in May and June and July - 52 mm each, the smallest in March - 27 mm. The average annual temperature is + 6.6 ° С, the average temperature of the coldest month of January is −9.3 ° С, the hottest month of July +21.4 ° С [13] .
