Biography
The first mention of Koptev dates back to 1745, Vasily lived on Myasnitskaya Street in the house of his Mr. Major-General A. F. Tomilov [1] .
1750-1753 - took part in the construction and painting of the stone Church of St. Euple (Church of Arhidiyakon Euple), built on the site of a wooden one (according to the testament of A.F. Tomilov (died 1750)).
Enrolled in the Office of the buildings . In October 1756, it was placed at the disposal of J. Valeriani .
1757-1758 - worked under the leadership of Antonio Perezinotti as part of a large group of painters who wrote the ceiling and, probably, theatrical scenery in the Opera House at the wooden Winter Palace .
From May to August 1760 he was in Oranienbaum , together with other painters under the direction of F. Gradazzi, wrote the scenery for staging at the Opera House .
From May to October 1761, he was also listed “during the painting work at the Oranienbaum Opera House”. [2]
Since 1762 - at the St. Petersburg tapestry manufactory. Mentioned in the register of oral commands of Peter III . [3]
In 1777–1779 he painted four paintings (three of them were signed and dated) according to engraved drawings by . [four]
