Biography
Born on April 14, 1946 in Gaysin (now Vinnytsia region , Ukraine ). In 1970 he graduated from the Kiev State Pedagogical Institute . Member of domestic and international art exhibitions. The works of Andrey Chebykin are stored in the National Art Museum of Ukraine ( Kiev ), the State Tretyakov Gallery ( Moscow ), other museums and private collections in Ukraine and the world.
Over 35 years of teaching, he created a kind of print school. Manages the free graphics workshop of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (since 1985). Since 1970 - began teaching at the Kiev State Art Institute

Chairman of the prize committee named after Ivan Ogienko. Member of the National Union of Artists .
In 1989, he was elected rector of the Kiev State Art Institute. During the leadership of the educational institution, maintaining good traditions, he reoriented the educational process aimed at the free disclosure of students' creative abilities.
He is a co-author of the textbook “Etching Technique” (1978) for art higher educational institutions. Many of his former pupils became famous artists, laureates of various art competitions, exhibitions, received honorary titles of Ukraine.
In 2017, he headed the jury of the All-Ukrainian Open Contest of Fine Arts #MISESTVO .
He works in the field of easel, book graphics, monumental art. The graphic series created by him amaze with the depth of thought and expressiveness of the art form, elegant relaxedness of execution. Among the important art-plastic principles developed by artist-teacher Andrei Chebykin is the principle of a skillful, inventive combination of metaphorical language of symbols and signs with the plastic qualities of the texture of graphic materials (paper, cardboard, etc.).
Artwork
The most famous works are the graphic series Obradovo Village (1970), Soldier's Everyday Life (1972-1973), Cosmic Etchings (1976), Universe (1979-1980), Cosmos-Earth (1986); illustrations for literary works. Frank, L. Vysheslavsky, N. Gnatyuk, V. Grabovsky, I. Drach, B. Oleinik, V. Prostopchuk, G. Chubach (1977-1990), a series of tapestries for the interiors of the Donetsk Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. B. Solovyanenko (1994-1995); cycles of easel drawings and watercolors (1987-2006). The famous Ukrainian artist Georgy Yakutovich believed that A. Chebykin elevated the art of etching to the rank of the Ukrainian academic school, his, Chebykin, school [1] .
