Leptoteuthis gigas (lat.) - fossil species of cephalopods from the order of vampyromorphs (Vampyromorpha). The only species in the genus Leptoteuthis and the family Leptoteuthididae . Mostly known for their gladiuses , soft tissue imprints are preserved in the Zolnhofen limestone [1] .
