Ruprecht III Militant ( him. Ruprecht III. Der Streitbare ; d. 1191 ) - Count Nassau since 1160. The younger son of Count Arnold von Laurenburg and his wife Anastasia, daughter of Count Ludwig II von Arnstein.

Biography
After the death of his father, he ruled Nassau County with his brother, Henry I , and his cousin Walram I.
The owner of the mint in Siegen (1170), the abbey of Schönau Abbey (1172), the Kohlenz Voigt (1182)
Supporter of Emperor Frederick I Staufen , together with him participated in the battles of Monte Porzio (1167) and Legnano (1176) and in the fight against Heinrich Leo (1180).
Together with Walram I participated in the Third Crusade (1189-1191). He died in the Holy Land (on the way home).
Family
Robert's wife was Elizabeth von Schaumburg (d. C. 1235–1238), daughter and heiress of Count Emiho III von Leiningen. Children:
- Hermann (died after December 3, 1240) - a canon in Mainz
- Luitgard (d. 1222), 1st husband - Gebhard IV von Querfurt, burgrave of Magdeburg, 2nd husband - Henry III von Firneburg.
