Brinkley (Arkansas)

Brinkley is a city in Monroe County , Arkansas , USA. According to the 2010 census, the number of city residents was 3,188; according to the US Census Bureau, in 2015, 2,890 people lived in the city. It was founded as a railway station in 1872. Named after Robert Campbell Brinkley , president of the railway that built the station.

Brinkley is located in eastern Arkansas. According to the US Census Bureau, the city ​​has a total area of ​​15.4 km² (14.2 km² is land, 1.2 km² is water). On the territory of the city is the lake of the same name.

According to the 2010 census, Brinkley’s population was 3,188 (of which 48.1% are men and 51.9% are women), the city had 1,336 households and 825 families. 1567 buildings with an average density of 101.8 buildings per square kilometer of land were located on the territory of the city. Racial composition : white - 45.4%, African - Americans - 51.6%, Asians - 0.8% [1] .

According to the 2010 census, the city population according to the age range was distributed as follows: 24.2% - residents under 18 years of age, 3.9% - between 18 and 21 years old, 53.2% - from 21 to 65 years old and 18.7% - at the age of 65 years and older.
