Biography
The son of General Valerian Alexandrovich Belgard .
He studied in the Page Corps from 1855 to 1869, at the end of which he was identified as ensign in the Life Guards Preobrazhensky Regiment . In 1875 he became captain, and in 1877 he was transferred as a company commander to the 13th Erivan Regiment Life Grenadier .
He participated in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. In contrast to repelling an attack by Turkish troops on the Kalayarsky camp on August 20, 1877, he was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 3rd degree with swords and a bow. On June 22, 1878, he received the Order of St. Stanislav of the 2nd degree with swords for crossing the Balkans, and a week later, for the case against the Turks near the city of Filippol, he received the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree with swords and a bow. He was also awarded the Romanian Iron Cross (1878).
In 1886 he received the Order of St. Anne of the 2nd degree; from April 13, 1886 - Colonel; October 28, 1887 was appointed commander of the battalion. Since March 10, 1888 - the chairman of the regimental court.
In June 1888 he was appointed an official of special assignments of the seventh grade under the head of the main department of military educational institutions, with enrollment in the Guards infantry; since April 8, 1890 - special assignment officer under the Minister of War over the state. In 1897, on December 6, he received the rank of Major General; He was also awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree (1892) and the Order of St. Stanislav of the 1st degree (1901). also received the foreign order of the Bukhara gold star (1896).
During the reduction of staff by Minister of War A.F. Rediger, N.V. Belguard was dismissed from service on December 21, 1905 with a uniform and pension and production as lieutenant general. In retirement, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Elizabethan community of Red Cross Sisters of Mercy [1] .
He was married to Sofya Vladimirovna Trakhimovskaya (1855 - after 1917), daughter of V. M. Mengden . He lived with his wife from 1899 until his death in house number 18 on Mokhovaya Street . He was buried in the Alexander Nevsky Lavra.
