Database Information
SIMBADdata

It is a semi-correct variable with a main period of 714 days. The apparent magnitude varies in the range from 6.5 to 9.6 m [3] No long secondary periods were found [9] .

When modeling AH Sco near the maximum luminosity, a temperature of 3682 K and a luminosity of 330,000 were determinedL⊙ {\ displaystyle L _ {\ odot}} {\ displaystyle L _ {\ odot}} resulting in an estimate of radius 1411R⊙ {\ displaystyle R _ {\ odot}} R _ {{\ odot}} .

AH Sco is surrounded by a dust shell [10] , and SiO, H 2 O, and OH masers are found in the oxygen-rich surrounding substance. Measurements of the position of the masers using VLBI observations made it possible to estimate with high accuracy the distance to the star, equal to 2260 pc . At the time of observation, masers approached the star at a speed of 13 km / s, which indicated a compression process with a phase of 0.55 relative to luminosity variations [2] .
