In October 2012, in connection with a wave of accusations against Jimmy Savile, as well as talk that a culture of connivance against sexual harassment flourished on the BBC in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, Toxwig announced that in the 1980s, she was harassed by a “famous person." [10] [11] According to her, reports of incidents of inappropriate behavior on the BBC "did not surprise her at all."

Comedy

In comedy circles, Toxwig became known for playing at the Comedy Store in London, as well as being a member of the club’s team that performed comedy improvisations. [12]

On television, she acted as a participant in such comic shows as Call My Bluff (usually as a team captain), Whose Line Is It Anyway? , Mock the Week , QI, and Have I Got News for You where she appeared in the very first episode in 1990. [13] She also hosted What the Dickens , and Sky Arts .
