Minoransky, Victor Arkadevich

Minoransky Viktor Arkadevich was born 02/01/1938 in the city of Rostov-on-Don . In 1961 he graduated from the Department of Zoology of Rostov State University. He defended his thesis on beet pests in 1967, the doctoral thesis in 1977, received the title of professor in 1979, and the Honored Worker of the Higher School of the Russian Federation in 1998. An active participant in the formation of environmental education, the creation of environmental departments and faculties in universities of the North Caucasus .

In 1975 he organized at the RSU and until 1985. He was the dean of the faculty for advanced training of teachers and employees of universities, research institutes of the North Caucasus in the field of " Biology " and " Environmental Protection ". In 1977, he created at the RSU a special faculty of Ecology and Improving the Efficiency of the Use of Natural Resources for the retraining of specialists in the national economy with higher education, and until 1985 was the dean of this faculty. The initiator and participant in the creation of the Rostov Steppe Reserve, 2 nature reserves, 11 natural monuments, the Delta Don Museum and the PA “Steppes”, and the preparation of the Red Book of the Rostov Region (2004).

Minoransky Viktor Arkadievich - one of the founders and since 2003 - Chairman of the Association "Wildlife of the steppe".
