Shulga, Nikolai Alexandrovich

Nikolai Aleksandrovich Shulga (born September 29, 1943 , the village of Lysoye , Krasnodonsky district , Lugansk region ) is a Soviet and Ukrainian politician and social scientist, doctor of sociology (1993), professor (2002). Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine .

In 1969 he graduated from the History Department of Rostov State University.

Political Biography

  • 1969-1970 - Executive Secretary of the Rostov branch of the All-Russian Society for the Protection of Monuments of History and Culture
  • 1980-1990 - at party work in the apparatus of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine.
  • 1990-1994 - People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 1st convocation . Chairman of the Commission on State Sovereignty, Inter-Republican and Interethnic Relations.
  • 1994-1995 - Minister of Ukraine for Nationalities, Migration and Cults.
  • from April 2002 to March 2006 - People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the 4th convocation , elected according to the lists of the Communist Party of Ukraine . First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations.

Scientific career

  • 1972-1975 - graduate student.
  • 1975-1980 - junior researcher, senior researcher at the Department of Social Psychology, Institute of Philosophy, Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR
  • Deputy Director of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine .

State Awards

  • Order of Merit, III degree (1997)
  • Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine
  • Order of Friendship ( January 19, 2004 , Russia ) - for a great contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the Russian Federation and Ukraine [1] .
  • Pushkin Medal ( March 6, 2012 , Russia ) - for his great contribution to the development of cultural ties with the Russian Federation, the preservation and popularization of the Russian language and culture abroad [2]
