Urum al-Kubra

Urum al-Kubra ( Arabic: أورم الكبرى ) is a village in the province of Aleppo, 10 km west of its administrative center on the Aleppo - Idlib road. Population over 5 thousand inhabitants (2004).

Humanitarian convoy bombing

On September 19, 2016, a humanitarian convoy with UN logos consisting of 31 trucks was destroyed here [1] . During the attack, which occurred at 19:15 local time, 20 people were killed, including the head of the Syrian branch of the Red Crescent Omar Barakat [2] . According to US officials, a strike on the convoy was carried out by Syrian or Russian aviation. Representatives of Russia accused local rebel groups of attack [3] .
