Matveev, Vladimir Mikhailovich

He graduated from school in the city of Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region. In 1970 he moved to Leningrad, where he entered the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography for the course of People's Artist of the USSR I.P. Vladimirov . In 1974, after graduation, he was accepted into the troupe of the Lensovet Theater . He left him in 1986, and worked for three years at the Young Theater of the Lenconcert and the Krasnoyarsk Youth Theater. In 1989 he returned to the theater. Lensoviet, where he still plays ^[2] . In 1993, he received the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation .

In 2001, for playing the role of Karenin in the play “Karenin. Anna. Vronsky ”was awarded the highest St. Petersburg theater prize“ Golden Spotlights ”in the category“ Best Actor ” ^[3] , the Tsarskoye Selo Art Award and the Audience Award of the Petersburg society“ Theater ”. In 2006, for the role of Kuzovkin in the play "The Freebie" of the Russian Entreprise Theater named after Andrei Mironov , Vladimir was nominated for the Golden Spotlight Award in the category "Best Actor" ^[4] . In 2007, he won the Nikolai Simonov Prize. In 2008 he was awarded the title " People's Artist of the Russian Federation " ^{[5] [6]} .
