Biography
In 1948 he graduated from the Bulgarian Conservatory in the class of Tamara Yankova (piano), in 1950-1956 he improved his studies with Heinrich Neigauz at the Moscow Conservatory , here he defended his dissertation prepared under the guidance of Alexander Nikolaev . Since 1956, he has been a teacher of the Bulgarian Conservatory in piano classes and the history of piano music, and since 1974, he has been a professor and has also taught in the German Democratic Republic, Japan, Brazil and Greece. In 1968-1972 - Secretary of the Union of Musical Figures of Bulgaria, and since 1980 - 1st Deputy Chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Composers. Member of the jury of several international music competitions, in particular the VI, VII and VIII International Tchaikovsky Competitions . Performs in a piano duet with his wife - Julia Ganeva; she shares the professorship with him. He has toured in many countries, including the USSR (repeatedly). Author of musicology articles. Member of the BKP since 1961.
