The premiere of the film took place in Latvia on January 22, 1940 at the Splendid Palace cinema. For two months, the premiere of the film was watched by 250 thousand people. In 2000, the film was decided to colorize [1] .
The plot of the film takes place in the Latvian fishing village of the 30s of XX century. Virtually all the residents of the village are the debtors of the Garoza fish trader. The young fisherman Oskar Klyava is trying to change the current situation.
